It’s no secret that it’s expensive being poor. At the most obvious level, when you’re poor you don’t have money, so you have to borrow it, which is expensive. It’s hard to pay money back when you’re poor, so your credit score can suffer. But you still need money, so you have to borrow it from increasingly less reputable sources (hello payday loans…
